ABOUT HEDRA

HEDRA (Housing Engineering Design and Research Association) was established in 2009 to undertake research into the performance of Australian houses and to raise the standard of engineering and construction.

Its members are wide and varied and include representatives from professional environments and trade practitioners in the residential construction industry. Within the HEDRA organisation members have many opportunities to communicate and engage with each other to fully understand the roles each stakeholder has, thus improving the standard of residential construction which is beneficial for all.

These members include: practitioner surveyors, arboiculturists, planners, geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, geotechnicians and some city council participation across Australia.

Our Aims are:

• to undertake educational programs and national conferences, seminars, workshops and excursions

• to participate in appropriate research programs relevant to the housing industry

• to promote a higher standard of engineering and construction of low rise residential buildings

• to exchange technical information with all related professionals and organisations

• to extend the influence of the Association within the industry and government bodies

• to encourage HEDRA affiliation with sole practitioners with related groups and/or organisations
